I wish you knew

Staring out at the darkness of this morning. 

The shuffle of my library brings on a sad song. 

I think "of course a sad country song" with amusement.

Then I remember what day it is.

My heart clenches in my chest.

Knowing it will take more effort than it should.

All to keep from saying or typing those two words.
